Jan. 10 : Nomination of Rt. Rev. Dr. George Madathikandathil as Bishop of Kothamangalam

Feb. 9 : Rt. Rev. Dr George Madathikandathil was ordained as the Bishop of Kothamangalam. Rt. Rev. Dr George Punnakottil, the second Bishop retired, and the new Bishop took charge as successor.

May 18 : Rt. Rev Mgr. George Oliapuram took charge as Syncellus.

Aug. 19-31: Synod of Bishops.

Sep. 5 - Oct 10 : Meeting of the newly elected bishops with the Roman Pontiff.

Nov. 24 : Conclusion of the Year of Faith.
